After the April four day war of 2016, the Government of Artsakh opened a special account, where all those willing made donations for the further enhancement of the Defense Army’s combat-readiness.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 1, ARTSAKHPRESS-ARMENPRESS: One year after the war, the donations have already served their purpose.

Artak Beglaryan, spokesman of the Prime Minister of Artsakh, told  Armenpress the direct damage of the April War was 20 million drams, including infrastructures, structures of economic significance, homes and private property of citizens.

“Some finances have also been spent in the direction of providing compensations to the families of volunteers. I have to mention that in these works the donations weren’t the only resources that were spent, rather large expenditures were made by the government’s and the military’s budget for improvement of defense systems”, he said.

According to Beglaryan, the donations of the special account are mainly used, however it still operates and those willing to make donations can even do so online.

“If money is collected, it will also be directed for the defense system. It gives additional opportunity for carrying out greater work faster”, Beglaryan added.

Donations included 550,000,000 AMD from Gazprom Armenia CJSC, 102,100,000 AMD from Armenian Police staff, 100,000,000 AMD from Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine CJSC, 57,500,000 AMD from Gazprom Armenia ‘Transgas’ LLC, 50,000,000 AMD from Karavan LLC, 48,050,000 AMD from Armenia’s Development Initiatives.
