Nikol Pashinyan’s appeal contributed to peaceful solution of Stepanakert’s protest
STEPANAKERT, JUNE 4, ARTSAKHPRESS: As ArtsakhPress correspondent informed, Artsakh State Minister, Arayik Harutyunyan, and a group of MPs met with the participants of the protest.
“You opened a new page in the history of Artsakh. For the first time a protest started in Artsakh that had a concrete agenda. The demands raised by you were discussed at the government’s session held today. The President gave corresponding assignments. The question of making personnel and structural changes not only in the power structures but also in the state government system was discussed. A public council will be formed in which a group of initiators of the protest will be also included. They will conduct public surveillance to realize the envisaged improvements,’’ the State Minister said.
Arayik Harutyunyan next presented Armenian PM’s appeal, in which the latter urged people to give the authorities an opportunity to implement promised changes.
Members of the initiative group promised to stop the protest.
Leader of the protest, Davit Simonyan, thanked people for trusting and supporting them.
