The official opening of the National Defense Research University (NDRU) of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia was held in capital city Yerevan on Thursday, January 28, 2016, on the 24th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces, the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of Republic of Armenia President’s Staff informs.

STEPANAKERT, JANUARY 28, ARTSAKHPRESS: The ministers of defense of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, top officials of the Armenian Armed Forces, foreign ambassadors to Armenia and guests, academics attended the opening ceremony.
President Serzh Sargsyan toured about the newly erected building, got acquainted with the programs and working conditions at the university.
A report by Professor Hayk Kotanjyan, Doctor of Political Sciences and Director of Institute of National Strategic Studies after Drastamat Kanayan, was followed by welcoming speeches by Professor of The Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy James Keagle, the director of National Security Programs of the Harvard Kennedy school, Lieutenant--General Ted Olsthoorn and the director of Center for Euro¬Atlantic Security of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Professor, Doctor of Political Sciences Alexander Nikitin.
Under the Armenian president’s decrees Medals of Gratitude were awarded to Mr James Keagle, Mr Ted Olsthoorn, Mr Alexander Nikitin and Mr Nikolay Bordyuzha.
