STEPANAKERT, MAY 18, ARTSAKHPRESS: Melania Balayan, the director of the Artsakh State welcoming the attendees of the exhibition, said that as in the previous years this year also  112 museums of Armenia and Artsakh joined to the “Museum night” project and to the International Museum Day.

75 photos taken in 1981-1982 by Samvel Karapetyan, the head of the foundation researching Armenian architecture were presented at the exhibition.

“Today at different cultural centers different events will be held , the aim of these events is to strengthen the relationship between museums and visitors, to attract the public attention, to disseminate the knowledge and experience, to preserve cultural heritage,” said  Melania Balayan to Artsakhpress.

“The museum has visitors from different countries, who constantly state that the historical information that they receive here, helps them to have clear view of the Artsakh people,” she said, adding the museum is visited by about 19,000 visitors annually from around the world. Visiting the  museum, learning about our real history, they form a true opinion about why the Armenian people had been forced to leave their homeland and to settle in various parts of the world, “said M. Balayan.

"I assure you that our museum will continue to be a center of propaganda, as only publishing books we can not represent our real biography to representatives of different nations," concluded M. Balayan.

At the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture,  and  under the patronage of the Council of Europe and UNESCO the pan-European “Museum night” project is held every year. The Armenian  museums are participating at this event since 2005.
