STEPANAKERT, JULY 24, ARTSAKHPRESS: As ArtsakhPress correspondent informs, Artsakh  minister of defense, commander, Lieutenant-General, Levon Mnatsakanyan, said the aforementioned during a press conference held on Tuesday. He added that the adversary mainly uses rifle weaponry.

“We have never had such a calm situation [at the frontline]. Controlling all the actions, the Defense Army continues its policy in all directions. The army focuses on revealing and analyzing further actions of the adversary. It outlines its priorities according to them. Today works connected with the frontline are primary. Defense Army’s capabilities for conducting intelligence work under limited conditions have been increased. Arsenal of armament and military equipment has also been expanded. Analyzing the recent military drills carried out by the adversary, several changes have been made to the training programs of troops,’’ defense minister said.

Artsakh Defense Army commander said that just as in the previous years Azerbaijan continued its bellicose statements.

“Azerbaijan openly states that the only solution to the conflict is a military one. Last time such statements were made in June, during the festivities dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.  Those statements were made not only for the domestic audience but also for international public,” Levon Mnatsakanyan said.

During the press conference defense minister answered reporters’ questions.
