STEPANAKERT,  DECEMBER 4, ARTSAKHPRESSAs “ Artsakhpress” reports, the Minister of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Artsakh, Narine Aghabalyan said that in 2018 a number of jubilee holidays have been celebrated: the 100th anniversary of the First Armenian Republic and the Battle of Msmna, the 30th anniversary of the Artsakh Movement, etc.

Political scientist Alexander Manasyan, who also attended the event, said that not only a part of the real history should be discussed, but also the history of Artsakh War after 1988. At least three stages of Azerbaijan-Artsakh confrontation should be mentioned: pre-Soviet, Soviet and post-Soviet. If we put emphasis only on the last 30 years, our opponent will be able to distort the facts of that period also. The examination of the issue in the context of three stages raised a number of issues that  become disputed. During the last 100 years neither parties of the conflict nor their goals have been changed.

When we present our conflict  in the context of 100 years of confrontation, foreign representatives perceive it in a different way. Based on the three phases, true political assessments are given. In 1918 the Artsakh issue has already been internationalized, " said Manasyan.

Talking about the Battle of Msmna, director of the “Kachar” Scientific Center in Shushi, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Mher Harutyunyan said that for more than a century  people have been interested in the battle that took place near the village of Msmna of Artsakh in October 1918.

Director of the Artsakh Scientific Center Stepan Dadayan said at the end of the event that fact-finding works on the Battle of Msmna will be carried out by their structure and the results will be published.

Speaker of the National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan, members of the Artsakh Scientific Center, guests and others attended the event.
