STEPANAKERT, FEBRUARY 13, ARTSAKHPRESS: “As the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia and many Americans know how important the commemoration is for Armenians and for people with good will around the world,” Mills said. U.S. Ambassador said he personally and the embassy will demonstrate that they stand by the Armenian people to commemorate tragic events of 1915. The Ambassador also expects that many American Armenians will be in Yerevan on April 24.

“In terms of the U.S. government, President Obama was very honored to receive an invitation to attend the events. It was clear to me at my discussions in Washington that no decision has been made yet on who will represent the U.S. government,” Mills added. As soon as he has any information, we will convey it to the Armenian government, he assured. But in the meantime, the Embassy is preparing programs and events during which the issue will be discussed.
