STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 9, ARTSAKHPRESS: Ceremonies dedicated the tragic events have been held in the city since 2010. With the tragic centennial approaching, the events are going to take a more active turn, according to Agos.

Speaking to the Turkish-Armenian publication, an activist of DurDe, Levent Shansever said that they wish to discuss the Genocide of Armenians, one of the ancient nations residing on those lands, and expand the debates on the issues.

“Even if the Turkish Government is not yet ready to confront the past, we, as citizens of Turkey, are prepared for that, and we wish the entire world to see it,” he was quoted as saying.

The commemoration event will start from Istanbul’s Taksim square. The crowd will then head to the tomb of Sevak Shahin Balikci, the Turkish-Armenian soldier killed during service ahead of the Genocide anniversary in 2011.
