Moscow's Zamoskvoretsky District Court on Wednesday was unable to proceed with the consideration of the merits of the criminal case against businessman Levon Hayrapetyan over the episode of fraud associated with the receipt of $ 700 thousand from the convicted ex-Senator Igor Izmestieva’s mother, TASS informed.

STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 2, ARTSAKHPRESS: The court session was postponed to December 9 in connection with the fact that the defendant did not appear in court because of hospitalization.

According to his lawyer, Hayrapetyan was hospitalized in the 31th city hospital because of a number of serious diseases. As explained by the defender, the entrepreneur was hospitalized on 30 November and will stay in the hospital at least ten days.

The businessman is accused of committing a crime under h. 4 Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud).

According to the investigation, from June to August 2010 Hayrapetyan, together with lawyer Sergei Antonov “has introduced a resident of Moscow misleading by deception and abuse of trust, promising to achieve removal of her son more lenient sentence for a cash consideration." Hayrapetyan received from her cash in the amount of 700 thousand dollars for realizing the mentioned above. In fact, Hayrapetyan had no possibility to influence the judgment.

Antonov disappeared from the bodies of investigation, a criminal investigation against him continues.
