STEPANAKERT, FEBRUARY 28, ARTSAKHPRESS: Today the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Artsakh Karen Mirzoyan after paying tribute to victims of Sumgait in the Stepanakert Memorial Complex, said at the briefing with journalists, "Artsakhpress" reports.

"That is simply unacceptable. It is contrary to all the rules of human reason and conscience. We must continue speaking about Sumgait pogroms, ethnic cleansing against Armenians living in Azerbaijani territories and other acts of genocide, because such an impunity is fraught with new dangers. It prepares a fertile ground for new genocides.

Nowadays, we are again witnessing how the genocidal mentality is expanding. Last year in April we have witnessed what kind of crimes committed today’s perpetrators of the massacre. We must take all measures to prevent such horrible acts,'Mirzoyan said.

According to the Foreign Minister of Artsakh, the issue of refugees must also be in the center of attention of the international community.

“Any settlement model will necessarily include the protection of their rights. Any settlement where human rights and their fates are ignored is impossible,” said Karen Mirzoyan and explained,

There are a lot of people familiar with the real situation.  In а cooperation with them, we must work to spread the truth among the public. Not only the state institutions, but each Armenian is responsible for it. It is  enough to be limited with unaddressed calls. They simply pave the way for creating further tensions. We must take immediate actions for the agreement on ceasefire reached in 1994-95, as well as the agreements reached in Vienna and St. Petersburg last year to be implemented."
