MP: We try to form political agenda with our German colleagues

Our relations with the “Alternative for Germany” party, which has 94 mandates in the German Bundestag, have started to develop since 2015. At that time the “Free Motherland” party of Artsakh invited an observation delegation from the aforementioned German party to the parliamentary elections held in Artsakh.

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 10, ARTSAKHPRESS:MP Gagik Petrosyan, who has recently been in Germany and Poland, told Artsakhpress about the aforesaid.

Reflecting on his visits, the representative of the largest parliamentary “Motherland” faction of Artsakh said that constructive meetings have been held. “On March 29 along with the Deputy Head of the National Assembly, Vahram Balayan,  and the permanent representative of Artsakh in Germany, Harutyun Grigoryan, we visited Bundestag in Berlin, where we have been received by Bundestag deputy Steffen Kotré. Deputies of the Bundestag of the Land Brandenburg Andreas Kalbitz and Andreas Galau also arrived to participate in the meeting. These three deputies visited Artsakh in 2015. Friendly relations continued after that. In particular, at the invitation of Andreas Kalbitz, a representative of our party carried out election observation mission in Baden-Württemberg.

“Taking all these into consideration we had very important and constructive talk. We discussed issues of inter-party interest. Especially the necessity of forming a bilateral political agenda was emphasized,’’ Gagik Petrosyan said.

On March 31 a delegation led by Vahram Balayan met with the deputy of the Bundestag Waldemar Herdt in the city of Neunkirchen.

As MP Gagik Petrosyan informs, they also had a meeting with the Armenian Ambassador to Germany, Ashot Smbatyan. During the meeting they exchanged thoughts on the Karabakh issue, regional challenges as well as on Artsakh’s economic and cultural programs.

In the city of Köln they met with the Armenian community and participated in the Holy Easter event. Delegation led by Armenian Diaspora Minister, Hranush Dadayan, was also present at the event.

Speaking about the working agenda he had in Poland, the MP said that first he met with the Ambassador of Armenia to Poland, Edgar Ghazaryan. “We had a very important meeting with Mr Ambassador. We discussed issues related to developing contacts between Artsakh and Poland, in particular, in the agricultural sphere. Conditioned by the priorities of the mentioned issues, my further meetings in Poland were with a number of farmers famous in the agricultural sphere. Concrete arrangements were achieved concerning the cooperation issues,’’Gagik Petrosyan said. He added that development of cooperation with the mentioned countries stems from the interests of Artsakh and that the “Free Motherland” party will continue to exert efforts to turn arrangements into business contacts.
