Raising the issues of recognition, condemnation and claim of the Armenian Genocide, turkologist Ruben Safrastyan believes to be the duty of all Armenians. As “Artsakhpress” reports in a conversation with “Armenpress” this was said by the turkologist, adding that this serious work needs to be done through the efforts of all Armenians, coordinated by the Republic of Armenia. “The efforts of all Armenians are required, since we are dealing with a state that does not recognize the genocide, falsifies it and there is no sign that it will recognize it. Turkey is a powerful country, it has its positions in the Middle East, it will be difficult for us, but we have to go that way. It is our duty to the memory of millions of victims" - said the turkologist, who is the Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
The Turkologist believes that in the struggle for recognition of the Armenian Genocide, which is becoming more intense on the eve of its 100th anniversary, we have to rely only on ourselves. "We – Armenia, Diaspora, must work together hard in many different fields, so that the world pays more attention to this problem. Let’s work, so that not only the world gets aware, because lots of people do not even know about the Armenian Genocide, but also to be able to reinforce our claims, based not only on common words, but also having grounds” – he noted.
